Dr. Tamer Younes, Secretary-General of NEN- National Education Network, revealed the full details of the “Tatweer” initiative for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which aims to support businesses through technological, marketing, and educational development solutions.
Younes stated that the initiative comes within the framework of grants provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Industrial Modernization Center (IMC), and the African Development Bank, while NEN acts as an accredited consultant for the three entities.
He explained that the grant value can reach up to €30,000 in the form of consultancy, development, and technological support services, with funding covering up to 80% of the total service cost provided to participating companies and institutions.
He further noted that the world is currently witnessing a major revolution in information technology and communications, stressing that no country can achieve real progress without relying on these sectors as essential pillars for development. The initiative therefore focuses on promoting digital inclusion, building capacities, encouraging innovation, combating corruption, and ensuring information security, in line with Egypt Vision 2030.
Regarding the application process, Younes confirmed that companies wishing to join the initiative should send an email to ngo@nen-global.org expressing their interest in participation along with all required documents. He added that the initiative’s management reserves the right to accept or reject applications according to its objectives, priorities, and operational mechanisms.
The required documents include an updated commercial registration and tax card, an English CV for the responsible manager with a recent photo, and an English organizational structure showing departments and the number of employees in each department.
Younes also highlighted the variety of services offered through the initiative. In the technological field, companies can benefit from integrated ERP systems such as Odoo and Microsoft solutions to manage operations including sales, accounting, HR, warehouses, and branch integration.
In the educational field, applicants may also gain access to E-Learning systems, eExam platforms, and internationally accredited tests such as ITEP English exams and Al-Tanal Arabic exams, in addition to certifications provided by major international companies including Microsoft.
He concluded by emphasizing that the European Bank aims through the initiative to support SMEs in achieving growth and sustainability, adding that NEN was selected as one of the important local and international consultants due to its extensive experience and successful projects across local and international markets.
